  • Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Proficiently operates designated machines within department while applying various operations
    • Effectively perform job functions as directed by set up operator and supervisor
    • Performs required ISO first/last piece part inspections visually or with gauging equipment and inspection tools
    • Visually inspects material during the machining process to prevent defects and scrap
    • Provides written suggestions for continuous improvement
    • Assists with training of others
    • Adheres to all safety policies
    • Performs predictive/preventative maintenance as necessary
    • Maintains safety and housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S principles
    • Complete all required training applicable to assigned position
    • Additional duties as requested or required

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School graduate or equivalent experience preferred
    • Basic math skills
    • Basic computer skills preferred
    • Basic blueprint reading ability
    • Demonstrated ability to read gauges
    • Must be able to use both hands
    • Ability to lift up to 20-30 lbs.
    • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours
    • Will be required to lift and manipulate large dies with assistance
    • Bending, twisting and/or squatting may be required
    • Demonstrated flexibility in attitude and willingness to work in all areas as needed
    • Demonstrated ability to understand follow work instructions
    • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
    • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work overtime with little or no notice
    • Ability to be cross-trained
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of quality standards to apply visual inspection
    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
    • Ability to communicate basic information regarding processes and quality related questions
    • Must have thorough understanding of quality systems and their relationship to job performance, corrective/preventative actions and work instructions
    • Must have physical ability and manual dexterity necessary to perform the duties pertaining to job
