ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Utilizing CAD design techniques, skills, design rules and specifications, prepare design concept layouts, assembly, and detail drawings, determine scales, perform mathematical calculations, and prepare layouts in support of product design.
• Design complex components utilizing CAD/Solid Modeling software with minimal supervision.
• Design assemblies of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
• Perform design tasks incorporating knowledge of equipment capabilities, application techniques and design limitations.
• Maintain technical coordination with engineering and design staff members.
• Generate files for various prototyping techniques.
• Coordinate with model shops to obtain models/prototypes of designs.
• Work with engineers and marketing staff in dynamic conceptual stages of projects.
• Support engineers through the initiation of ECR’s/ECN’s and the compilation of supporting documentation.
• Ensure that all product development processes and activities conform to Invacare’s quality system.
• In collaboration with QA/RA and in a pro-active manner, ensure that product development processes and activities meet appropriate domestic and international safety and quality standards.
• Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
• Additional duties as requested or required.
