    The Senior Human Resources Generalist is an experienced Human Resources professional who provides expertise in organizational design and workforce planning, talent acquisition, learning & development, employee relations, and human resources policies to employees and management. S/he consults with managers to provide guidance in managers’ roles of leading people, including performance management, coaching, career development, talent acquisition, organizational design, employee engagement and retention, employee development, and HR Policy guidance and interpretation.

     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    •  Talent Acquisition: Evaluate staffing needs and costs; identify, hire, and promote individuals with the right skills and competencies necessary to achieve superior results. Partner with third parties when contract staffing is most appropriate.  Partner with managers to establish effective new hire onboarding and orientation plans.  Collaborate with HR peers to establish/maintain Invacare’s employment value proposition.
    • Talent Development: Identify and deliver training needs for the client group and for individual coaching needs. Develop, plan and manage training and educational programs to meet organizational objectives; conduct and plan skills/leadership training for the hourly and salaried workforce. Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.
    • Organizational Effectiveness: Provide guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning. Analyze staffing, turnover and other human resources statistics and recommend effective corrective action. Work with managers to create the most effective organizational structure and ensure job roles are well defined.  Partner with management and the Compensation leader to evaluate and establish effective base and incentive pay to attract, retain and reward talent.
    • Employee Engagement: Work closely with management and employees to drive employee engagement by improving work relationships, building morale, increasing productivity and retaining talent. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
    • HR Policy Guidance and Interpretation: Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies; conduct research into human resources programs and activities; recommend changes or innovations where desirable. Apply in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to employment decisions, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required. Coordinate the administration of employee safety, health, recreation and benefits programs. Manage Worker's Compensation cases and back-to-work programs.
