Welder Apprentice POSITION SUMMARY This position fabricates and welds new and repaired products and subcomponents that are essential in the manufacture of precision sanitary instrumentation offered by Anderson-Negele. The position will set-up welders following standard operating procedures, prepare tooling as required, read and interpret blueprints and produce parts to quality and production standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Fabricating and performing ultra-low precision tig welding on new and repaired parts, components and finished products * Ability to braze and solder as necessary * Set-up and operate weld equipment, turn tables, lathes, drill presses, and bench grinders as necessary per standard operating procedures under minimal supervision * Cleaning, testing and finishing tasks as required * Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints and correctly utilize gauging instrumentation as required * Complete accurate and timely material tracking information * Responsible for process monitoring and identification of weld and assembly defects * Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in safe, clean and satisfactory operating condition * Support manufacturing readiness in all phases of the new product introduction process to meet or exceed launch schedules * Champion FBS lean manufacturing principles QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS * High School diploma or equivalent * Ability to work in a team environment * Enrolled in or ability to enroll in and successfully complete ASME weld certification * Aptitude to learn tig welding with mentorship **Primary Location: **North America-United States-NY-Fultonville **Work Locations: ** **Job: **Manufacturing / Operations **Organization: **Jacobs Vehicle Systems, Inc. **Schedule: **Full-time
