Group/Division With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA-Tencor to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA-Tencor's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA-Tencors metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. First to deliver the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time. EBeams mission encapsulates its role as the eyes of KLA-Tencors product line, providing timely information on defects and critical locations on the wafer at the highest spatial resolution possible. Customers use EBeam products alongside KLA-Tencor patterned and bare wafer inspectors to quickly understand the nature of defects and other imperfections on product wafers and take action to correct the manufacturing process. Responsibilities In this position, you will work side-by-side with seasoned engineers and scientists in developing, integrating and testing various hardware and software subsystems. We have multiple active projects, ranging from continuous improvement projects (CIP) which aim to improve or fix a sub-component in existing products as well as advanced development projects for upcoming products in our roadmap. There are a variety of activities you can get involved in, depending on your interests and skill sets. For those of you who are more advanced, you will also get a chance to contribute to a future product by actually participating in design and testing tasks. At the present, the key activity planned for this position is for the candidate to collect Critical Dimension Uniformity (CDU) data from multiple e-beam tools and multiple wafers to characterize CDU performance, within-tool and tool-to-tool repeatability as well as validate CDU error budget parameters by both on tool and off tool analysis of previously collected data. The successful candidate will complete this work and submit a full report to the team at the end of the internship. Qualifications Experience with data analysis, statistics, numerical methods, curve fitting, and image processing is a huge plus. Experience with software packages like JMP or Matlab is highly desired. Experience with Python programming is also a plus. Famililar with and comfortable using MS Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ideal candidate would possess the skills above and be able to collect data, analyze data, generate reports, and be able to work occasionally in a clean room environment. Minimum Qualifications Some College in a technical field such as Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
