PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for all welding equipment including programming, weld integrity, cut and etch inspection and resolution, and working with Program Weld Engineering on new equipment and programs.
JOB/TASK FUNCTIONS:
The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.
- Review and resolve all weld cut and etch and destruct related issues.
- Participate in cross-functional equipment design reviews.
- Support new model launches and improvement teams.
- Support tool tryouts at supplier and in-house capability runs.
- Participate in cross-functional and program management team activities.
- Ensure utilization of continuous improvement of current processes.
- Initiate purchase order requisitions for new jobs and engineering changes on welding and assembly equipment.
- Generate process parameter sheets (work standard and weld parameter sheets) for new incoming programs.
- Program robots, pedestal welders, and all other types of welding related equipment.
- Responsible for Run at Rates with customers as well as cycle time requirements.
- Troubleshoot Technical/Mechanical concerns on equipment and support other skilled trades as required.

Required Experience
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
