    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Relations, this individual will strategically plan, implement, staff, and execute events and programming that help foster a lasting experience for St. John’s graduates and a strong connection with their alma mater.

    Essential Functions:

    • Plan, execute, and staff events including but not limited to 1870 Court basketball receptions, Homecoming Fest, Reunion Week, Winter Carnival, Alumni Couples Celebration, and Lessons and Carols
    • Identify ways to engage and celebrate faculty/staff alumni
    • Serve as point person for school-based events and liaise with the dean’s office and the Development counterpart
    • Oversee alumni benefits and services program
    • Build relationships with key University partners
    • Work with the Assistant Director of Young Alumni and Student Engagement to ensure their participation in events and programming
    • Identify volunteers to assist with programming and communication
    • Identify alumni to feature in communications (e-newsletter, magazine, etc.)
    • In tandem with the Senior Director, establish and manage the event budget and its use
    • Assist in the assessment and evaluation of engagement initiatives, events, and priorities
    • Utilize alumni/donor database (Blackbaud) to record alumni volunteer engagement when applicable
    • Do additional duties as assigned

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, etc.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand for periods of time; move about; sit; to carry work and use controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; and communicate. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 - 50 lbs.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. including some nights and weekends. Ability to work longer hours when required is expected.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years related advancement experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Candidate must possess a current driver’s license.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary for this position is $62,400.
