    Position Summary

    Working under close supervision, the Utility Clerk performs customer service, routine filing, and various accounting tasks in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. They are responsible for all customer service, answering phones and emails from customers, filings various documents, tracking mail for the accounts payable clerks, and provide support as needed to the other members of the accounting team.

    Essential Functions & Duties

    Serves customers by providing them information and helping to resolve discrepancies between their records and ours to ensure accurate payments are made.

    Responsible for all interface with customers including phone call and email communication.

    Sort and distribute mail daily.

    Opens and tracks all accounts payable related mail.

    Files accounts payable check backup.

    Issues requested trade and gift cards.

    Prepare daily deposit.

    Review vendor statements for missing invoices.

    Organize and maintain the company’s certificates of insurance.

    Responds and researches credit card disputes.

    Will periodically assist Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Supervisor during busy times of the month as assigned.

    Will complete projects as assigned by Supervisor.

    Maintains a willingness to learn basic requirements of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable positions in order to provide backup when needed.

    Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Associate’s degree in Accounting, business, or related field preferred.

    Prior Customer Service experience preferred.

    Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook

    Must be detail-oriented with strong customer service background

    Ten key by touch

    Strong communication and analytical skills.
