    Position Summary

    The Engineering Intern will assist the Director of Engineering to provide engineering support to Brewery Operations, Maintenance and Capital Projects.

    Essential Functions & Duties

    Gain understanding of the brewing process and supporting utility systems (steam, CO2, air, hot and cold liquor, water and Glycol cooling)

    Working with brewing and maintenance personnel, prepare process descriptions of critical brewing and utility systems

    Create standard operating procedures and checklists for orderly shutdown and subsequent startup of major brewery systems in response to a planned outage, an emergency or a disaster

    Conduct emergency response training sessions for brewery and maintenance personnel ensuring that procedures and checklists are effective and well understood

    Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Experience with reading P&ID drawings (CAD based – AutoCAD, AutoPLANT) – able to create P&IDs is a plus

    Experienced with piping and process design – able to create process descriptions

    Able to effectively communicate with brewery operations and maintenance personnel – both written and verbal

    Must be able to execute several projects concurrently in fast paced environment

    Must be able to work out in plant, roll up sleeves and get hands dirty as necessary

    Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision – self-starter and resourcefulness required
