    Position Summary

    The Communication Intern provides administrative support to the Group Event and Banquet Sales Team as well as the Home Office. This position will assist the Communication Coordinator as the first contact for visitors, callers, and potential new business opportunities. He/she must maintain and foster a highly professional, welcoming, positive and collaborative environment with the company’s team members, customers, and visitors.

    Essential Functions and Duties

    Greets all callers and office visitors with consistent, professional, and proactive message.

    Answers and routes all incoming phone calls.

    Responds to voicemails and email requests for Karl Strauss Home Office.

    Distributes all company mail and faxes as they arrive.

    Provides administrative support in a variety of functions to the GEB Sales Team.

    Answers phone calls promptly and responds to voicemails and email requests same day, with the primary purpose of serving the account and selling new business.

    Assists Communication Coordinator to retrieve all necessary information from the customer to establish the event in the events system.

    Aids the Communication Coordinator to provide Group Events customers with any information they may be seeking regarding event functions.

    Helps the Communication Coordinator on processing and coordinating customer event change requests the day that they are received and communicates the changes to the applicable Brewpub team.

    Assists Communication Coordinator with creating and processing all Restaurant Event Orders (REOs) for customers in accordance with company procedures.

    Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Must be a current student BA/BS, or recent graduate in areas related to business, customer service, hospitality, etc.

    Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, and customer service focus.

    Customer service experience a plus.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

    Must be 21 years or older.
