  • Responsibilities

    PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist in leading and coordinating activities of the production departments including assembly and welding functions to meet production schedules and quality standards by performing the following duties.

     

    JOB/TASK FUNCTIONS:

    The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position.  However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

    • Assist Coordinator/Team Leaders in departmental operations as necessary

    • Trains new associates to ensure acceptable level of competency

    • Ability to work as in Production Operator function, as needed or directed

    • Ability to identify/inspect parts for quality defects

    • Conducts 1st piece inspection as required or as directed by Coordinator/Manager

    • Ensures proper labeling of parts and containers as needed

    • Prepares and coordinates change overs as needed

    • Performs routine and preventative maintenance and set up as directed(machine lubrication, tip changes)

    • Ensures that all containers are properly tagged prior to moving to another locations

    • Maintain a L&W issued Powered Industrial Truck (hilo) license (must obtain within 30 days)

    • Utilize hilo to move material through plant as necessary and ensure proper housekeeping

    • Ensure all areas of plant are safe, neat, cleaned and organized at all times

    • Properly strategize, organize and manage work areas to ensure that all required resources and tools are available for associates when needed

    • Encourage and support all aspects of teamwork through proper communication

    • Identify and recommend process improvements

    • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)

    • Able and willing to work any shift assigned, weekends and overtime

    • Regular and predictable attendance required

    • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • BACHELORS DEGREE IN BUSINESS OR RELATED FIELD OR AN EQUIVALENT NUMBER OF YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A SALES REPRESENTATIVE, SALES SUPERVISOR, SALES MANAGER OR OTHER RELEVANT AREA OF WORK FOCUSED ON SALES AND SALES MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES. REQUIRES VERY GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF SALES AND SALES MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES, WHICH IS TYPICALLY SEEN WITH 4-6 YEARS OF SALES MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as the person in this role will be responsible for or will assist in proposal development, presentations to internal and external customers and the development of his/her sales representatives.
    • Demonstrates successful selling abilities, including cold calling, as well as strong products and services knowledge as it relates to the printing industry.
    • Good analytical ability in order to conduct comprehensive customer needs analyses, develop recommendations, overcome objections, and create solutions. Requires ingenuity, resourcefulness and creativity.
    • Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; sets goals and objectives; sets realistic action plans.
    • Takes independent actions and calculated risks; looks for and takes advantage of opportunities; asks for and offers help when needed.
    • Must have the ability to lead, and to create an atmosphere where others can perform at an optimal level.
    • Knowledge of all company policies, procedures and principles of business ethics and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
    • Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
