    POSITION SUMMARY

    Maintenance Technicians Apprentice will be responsible for insuring that plant equipment is running and repaired as required for production.

     

    SUMMARY OF ESSENTIALRESPONSIBILITIES

    • Wears all required safety equipment and ensures area and environment is safe
    • Adhere to all safety requirements i.e. lockout procedures, confined space, etc.
    • Perform preventive maintenance as required in production lines to include Presses
    • Perform corrective maintenance as required in production lines to include Presses
    • Clean and organize area, keep area free of clutter and safety hazards – 5S
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns of equipment
    • Be capable of using PC/PLC ladder logic as a troubleshooting tool in production lines to include Presses
    • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems in production lines to include Presses
    • Be capable of welding and steel fabrication
    • Complete electrical repairs as assigned in production lines to include Presses
    • Maintain Spot and Mig welding equipment used in production lines
    • Trouble shoot and repair electrical control circuits in production lines and assembly cells
    • Run conduit and pull wire to install or move equipment
    • Repair electrical components in production lines
    • Remove and install motors in production lines
    • Repair / rebuild components identified by the Maintenance Department
    • Keep updated documentation as required on all plant machinery and equipment

    Process hourly/daily paperwork in MLS/EAM as required

     

    QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

                                    

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Passing score in Shop Math and Mechanical Reasoning Test
    • Able to attend school and flex schedule to complete 4 year apprenticeship
    • Will consider experience in lieu of education/degree
    • Proficient in troubleshooting and correcting work flow problems
    • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, product, or equipment.
    • The associate is regularly required to talk and hear.
    • The associate is frequently required to reach with hands and arms in repairing fixing, welding, or conducting inspection.
    • The associate is required to frequently bend, stoop and kneel.
    • The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 40pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works near moving equipment.  The noise level in the work environment is very loud.
