PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position will perform all necessary functions to ensure the efficient movement of cargo to the customer. In this role, will also work closely with Port Coordinator, Sales and Transportation team to review and determine accuracy of delivery of products.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Serve as initial point of contact for drivers, upon arriving at port, to check-in drivers and provide loading documents.
• Communicate with transportation companies to schedule delivery/pick-up appointments and enter into system.
• Log temperatures recorders and special notes on orders into the system when needed for specific orders/customers.
• Work closely with Port Coordinator, Sales and Transportation team to properly deliver schedule orders in a timely matter.
• Review all daily orders and previous days orders to determine accuracy of the delivery.
• Work with Port Coordinator to ensure proper turn around for trucks being loaded at the Port.
• Assist Sales Team when changes need to be made for specific orders.
• Assist Product Managers with oversold product.
• Assist with warehouse and terminal operation issues as needed, or as directed by Del Monte Management.
• Assist with internal audits and Food and Safety objectives as necessary to fulfill Quality Management System requirements.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
• Well organized and able to multi-task.

PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

• College Degree

REQUIRED SKILLS FOR THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Requires working knowledge of PLC and Servo controllers.

Good communication skills and the ability to work along with other employees throughout the plant, including production staff, managers, and outside contractors.

Ability to work independently to accomplish projects.

Willingness to work overtime as required to complete projects and keep the production processes operating.

Person should have his/her own tools.

Ability to work night shift.

Ability to standing for long periods of time, climb walk, bend, speak, touch, and see.   Some heavy lifting.
