As the GENERAL MANAGER with LIBERTY PACKAGING, you will lead and manage LIBERTY PACKAGING PHOENIX and work collaboratively across the Packaging South region (Phoenix, Dallas/Forth Worth, San Diego, Tijuana and Mexicali) to provide vision, leadership and day to day management. This leader is responsible for meeting business objectives and customer requirements with a focus on product and process excellence for one physical plant location. You will lead and manage the business in a manner that will produce desired revenue growth with the balanced interests of all stakeholders. 

This full-time position reports directly to the REGIONAL VP OF PACKAGING and is located at Liberty Packaging’s manufacturing plant in Phoenix, Arizona.

Required Skills

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

• Serve as the senior leader for Liberty Packaging Phoenix; provide direct leadership to functional direct reports including Sales, Finance, Operations and Human Resources
• Plan, develop, organize and execute the Liberty Packaging Phoenix business plan to meet company financial and strategic objectives; responsible for the overall budgetary and P&L planning and results
• Work collaboratively across the Liberty Diversified International organization and specifically with the regional functional leaders
• Manage resources to effectively balance strategic objectives with financial return and the efficient use of assets
• Establish and implement all policies and procedures necessary for the orderly and effective operation of the facilities and ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures
• Optimize manufacturing and business processes to position the facilities and business for continued growth and business viability
• Work closely with sales team and customers to analyze, plan and implement new opportunities
• Establish and maintain customer and other related business relationships; participate in key customer and supplier visits and calls
• Represent Liberty Packaging Phoenix in the community

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Operations or related discipline required
• 10+ years of senior leadership experience in general management, plant management or senior level functional experience (working in multiple functional area including sales, marketing, distribution and finance) within a manufacturing environment necessary
• Corrugated, folding box, packaging or closely related industry experience preferred, but not required
• Operational and continuous improvement experience preferred
• Proven track record of working hands-on, directly with employees and customers to ensure implementation of strategic company initiatives and effective customer care
• Exceptional leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, ability to manage and develop a management team to assure cohesiveness and a team orientation
• Effective communication skills; listening, team building, selling, writing and presenting
• Strong customer focus; effectively interacting with current and prospective customers to close sales or provide customer care
• High personal standards with a proven track record of integrity, business ethics, and professionalism
