    Position Summary:

    “Launch” is our new pathway for graduates stepping directly into permanent roles. The program is designed for ambitious graduates (Bachelors, Masters or PhD level) who are ready to make an impact from day one, supported with on the job learning and career progression opportunities.

    You’ll specify and design solutions including mechanical, electrical, controls and other hardware as defined by assigned projects. You’ll be accountable for all aspects of hardware design, analysis, and definition and you’ll support fabrication and testing to deliver LibertyWorks' products. In this role, you’ll ensure that component designs meet project requirements from concept through demonstration testing.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Leading design and analysis activities for mechanical systems hardware, from requirements capture through to program completion

    • Understanding and cascading system requirements into sub-system and component hardware requirements, and issuing requirement documents

    • Providing hardware design concepts and performing trade studies to optimize hardware, including basic CADD modeling and analysis

    • Creating and documenting functional and physical interfaces with other component engineers

    • Developing hardware bills of material and collaborating across teams to integrate with the project-level product structure and configuration

    • Supporting the creation of engineering drawings and/or model-based definitions for project/manufacturing to procure conforming hardware

    • Providing limits for engine and rig testing, and supporting testing, including assessment of test results and tested hardware

    • Developing technical presentations and associated technical reports in the delivery of solutions

    Who we’re looking for:

    • Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity and the ability to solve problems using analytical and critical thinking

    • Familiarity using computer aided design tools such as NX

    • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T), and the creation of limit stacks.

    • Familiarity with generic design processes and design methods

    • Some experience using finite element analysis tools (such as ANSYS Classic or Workbench)

    • Programming skills such as Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, PERL, C++

    • Understanding of engine assembly and testing

    Relevant majors:

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear or Aerospace Engineering required at a minimum.

    Graduation eligibility: Graduating between December 2025 and June 2026

    Minimum GPA: 3.0

    Work authorization eligibility: To be considered for this role, you must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearance.
