    This is an exciting time for Lear as the business has seen significant growth over the last few years and more recently completed some valuable acquisitions to greater support expansion. Due to the increase in business we are looking to complement our teams based across the country. We are currently recruiting for an experienced IT professional to join our site in Coventry as MANUFACTURING SYSTEM SOFTWARE SPECIALIST. We have a complete bespoke system which controls our manufacturing systems across the globe within 40+ JIT (Just-in-time) locations and as such there will be the opportunity to travel to various locations around the globe.

    The primary focus of this position is to provide technical support in existing installations and deployment of future implementations of the Lear Just-in-time System (LJS). This involves all LJS hardware, software, and configuration to ensure on-time cost effective solutions. LJS is a proprietary manufacturing execution system written in-house. The main function of LJS is to communicate with shop floor devices on the production line to a defined build process, ensuring results and safety critical data are captured and recorded for future reference.

     

     

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Responsible for the second level support of existing installations providing training, helpdesk support and problem resolution.

    • To develop and execute test plans of LJS enhancements prior to installation.

    • To develop installation plans for the implementation of LJS enhancements with the Plant team.

    • Provide project planning, reporting and deployment of future LJS implementations.

    • To drive standardization, monitoring and documentation of LJS processes.

    • To perform analysis and specification of LJS requirements of our internal & external customers and submit change request to LJS development team.

     

     

     

    Required Skills

     

    TECHNICAL SKILLS:

     

    • Strong technical background.

    • Ability to communicate using the English language.

    • Strong understanding of Automotive Manufacturing JIT Processes.

    • Strong understanding of  EDI and data communication standards used in the Automotive Industry.

    • To be able to formulate logical statements of system computing problems and devising solutions.

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Technologies – Windows Server, IIS, SQL server and reporting services.

    • Experience with coding practises such as C# and ZPL would be beneficial.

    • DBA experience (SQL server 2012/2016)

    • Knowledge of JIT interfaces for various ERP systems.  QAD, BPCS, and XPPS would be beneficial.

    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects.

    • Knowledge of project management & systems development best practice.

    • Knowledge of ITIL service management.

    • Installation and setup of production based servers (clustering and virtualisation)

    • MCSA/MCITP/MCTS or equivalent experience with ability to configure windows servers.
