    PLZEN, CZECH REPUBLIC

     

    Following its establishment in 2012, today Plzen is our fastest growing Engineering Development Center in Europe; the development center works on the design and development of Lear Products related to Mechanical Engineering such as complex seating mechanisms and structures, foams, coatings, plastics and trim development. With a headcount today of Circa 250 employees. []The vision for Plzen is not to work as an internal supplier for our European business units but to develop into a leading Design and Development Center working on projects for all major European OEM customer groups from concept phase through to delivery.

     

    As a component engineer you will be working close together with our Lead Unit component teams in Europe. Your main work assignments will be 3D design work of plastic and metal components in CATIA.

     

    AS A COMPONENT ENGINEER, YOUR ROLE MAY ALSO INCLUDE:

     

     

    • Create 2D component drawings.
    • Follow our customer specifications and requirements.
    • Perform packaging studies.
    • Preparation of Change Documentation.
    • Perform & support design reviews.
    • Usage & Support of Automotive Quality Tools like FMA, DFMEA, Design Check List.
    • Define Design validation plans and follow up test reports.
    • Communicate with our suppliers.

     

    TO BE A SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE YOU MUST HAVE:

     

    • Mechanical or Electrical engineer/alternatively technical education + relevant background.
    • Fluent English. German is advantageous.
    • Nice to have knowledge: Catia V5, Injection moulds, progressive die, design for manufacturability plastic and metal, wiring harness knowledge, automotive industry, plastic materials.
    • You have good knowledge in Microsoft Office.
