    +--------------------------------------+--------------------------------------+ | POSITION TITLE: | GLOBAL SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE | | | MANAGER | +--------------------------------------+--------------------------------------+ | LOCATION: | Southfield, MI | +--------------------------------------+--------------------------------------+ | EDUCATION: | B.S.E. in Electrical or Computer | | | Engineering or Compute Science | | | required.  M.S.E. and MBA | | | preferred.  | +--------------------------------------+--------------------------------------+ | POSITION FOCUS: | Lear’s global software and systems | | | engineering organization develops | | | embedded software for a variety of | | | automotive systems including audio | | | amplifiers, body and domain control | | | modules, lighting modules, gateways, | | | EV/HEV on-board chargers, and | | | connectivity modules.  Delivering | | | high quality, defect free software | | | to our automotive OEM customers is | | | our #1 priority.  The Global SQA | | | position at Lear is responsible to | | | build and lead a global team of | | | software quality assurance engineers | | | responsible to help define and drive | | | the change initiatives required to | | | meet this important objective.  This | | | position will have regional reports | | | in Germany, India, China, and other | | | product development locations.    | +--------------------------------------+--------------------------------------+ | PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: | - Define and drive the change | | | initiatives required in order | | | for Lear to achieve our target | | | of zero customer reported | | | software defects in | | | volume production. | | | - Ensure that Lear’s global | | | software and systems development | | | processes and best-practices are | | | executed in all development | | | projects through a combination | | | of coaching, project audits, and | | | gate reviews. | | | - Assist the development teams to | | | identify individual project | | | quality risks, and to put in | | | place sufficient risk mitigation | | | measures.  This includes the | | | direct participation in peer | | | reviews of software | | | requirements, design, code, and | | | test cases as needed. | | | - Directly coach project teams | | | during formal problem solving of | | | customer issues, including the | | | appropriate application of 8D, | | | 5-Why, and Fault Tree | | | Analysis methods. | | | - Coordinate with Manufacturing | | | Quality on customer issues that | | | affect manufacturing | | | - Consolidate preventative | | | actions, lessons learned, and | | | other process improvement | | | measures derived from customer | | | projects into Lear’s global | | | software development process via | | | our Software Process Engineering | | | Groups (SPEGs).  | | | - Ensure that Lear’s software | | | quality metrics are accurate, | | | visible, and acted upon in | | | the organization. | | | - Conduct audits/assessments of | | | external embedded | | | software suppliers. | | | - Support the global software and | | | systems engineering management | | | team to prepare for and | | | successfully execute | | | ASPICE assessments. | | | - Maintain expert knowledge and | | | thought leadership in automotive | | | industry trends in software | | | development processes, methods, | | | and tools | | | | | |   | +--------------------------------------+--------------------------------------+ | PREFERRED BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE: | - 15+ years of experience in the | | | development of automotive | | | electronics and/or embedded | | | software | | | - Demonstrated track record of | | | accomplishment and passion for | | | leading change and continuous | | | improvement initiatives in the | | | area of product quality | | | - Extensive experience in customer | | | problem solving, include 8D, 3x5 | | | Why, fault tree analysis, etc. | | | - Demonstrated success in | | | formulating customer | | | communication of problem-solving | | | status in high | | | pressure situations. | | | - Experience conducting | | | engineering peer reviews and | | | project gate reviews | | | - Experience planning, preparing | | | for, and successfully executing | | | ASPICE assessments (up to and | | | including level 3) and | | | IATF/TS16949 audits | | | - Strong ability to communicate | | | and evangelize software develop | | | processes inside the company | | | - 6-Sigma blackbelt training | | | a plus. | | | - Fluent in English.  German | | | speaking a plus | +--------------------------------------+--------------------------------------+
