As the J&L OPERATOR with LIBERTY PACKAGING PHOENIX, you will be setting up of all jobs on the machine. He/She will learn how to enter data into the computer system, generate load tags properly, know how to use the job tickets and adhere to the needs per our customers’ requirements. He/She will learn how to feed, stack, and catch product on this machine and fill in during the planned/unplanned absences of the operator or other assistants if needed. It is expected that everyone works as a team and learn the necessary setup procedures, housekeeping, and operator maintenance of the J&L to maintain and sustain a safe, quality driven and productive outcome daily.

This full-time position reports directly to the PLANT MANAGER, CHRISTOPHER ABBY and is located at Liberty Packaging’s manufacturing plant in Phoenix, Arizona.

Required Skills

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

• Operates printing press to print in accordance with job orders
• Reads instructions from job jacket and sets up or directs set-up of press based on instructions
• Makes job ready by running samples to adjust print quality, registration, color settings and mixings
• Makes final pre-run inspection of job and approves of confers with supervisor for approval
• Monitor quality throughout entire run-color, registration, scumming, marking, etc.
• Monitors pH and conductivity of fountain solution on offset press.
• Assists in performing preventative maintenance on press such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning and minor adjustments to rollers and other small moving parts

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in folding carton or commercial print manufacturing facility, and Kamori L540 press knowledge a plus
• 2-3 years Machine operation experience including set up; maintenance and troubleshooting automated machines
• Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions and set up press to carry out instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
