    The Role

    What’s the job?

    The Scope of the Logistic Generalist is to perform Logistic Duties and have a general knowledge of all activities involving Logistics and Raw Materials. These duties include Traffic duties, SAP receiving duties, MRP duties, and 3PL duties, and afternoon Shipping Oversight responsibilities. Other duties will include but not limited to 5S, Vendor interaction, & Emergency Safety coordination. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

    • Work directly with warehouse personnel in confirmation and accuracy of shipping documents
    • Dispense Bill of Ladings and obtain and retain signed copies for all outbound shipments
    • Maintain a good working relationship with outside vendors.
    • Provides plant support to Regional Purchasing Agent and Regional Controller; PO corrections.
    • Provides warehouse support to Logistic Manager and operations
    • Finished Goods Outbound rail coordination, scheduling empty Boxcars and Railroad way billing
    • Inventory Management
    • Transportation efficiency planning
    • STO management
    • Monitor & plan the rail movements through the NS Access System & or corresponding railroads. For all raw materials & inbound / outbound shipping as needed.
    • Communicate to outside supply chain and purchasing departments as needed.
    • Report and do physical inventories and communicate to necessary departments as needed.

    Requirements

    What do you bring?

    • High School diploma or GED is required (an Associate’s Degree in a business discipline is preferred)
    • At least three years of experience in a logistics role in a fast-paced manufacturing facility
    • Strong in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Familiarity with MRP systems preferably SAP.
    • No travel requirements
