    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    The PTC Field Support Manager is responsible for leading and managing a high-performing team to fulfill Positive Train Control (PTC) field testing, installation, and support requests from program and product management. This role oversees multiple business-critical projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In addition, the manager will mentor and coach team members to strengthen their technical expertise and professional growth.

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

    • Scheduling, planning and estimating field support requests to support business needs.
    • Demonstrated expertise in Positive Train Control technologies.
    • Demonstrate an ability to establish relationships with leadership and customers.
    • Evaluate tools and solution strategies to ensure timely updates needed to on time project delivery.
    • Resource hiring, performance appraisal and coaching for exceptional performance.
    • Effectively track and communicate incremental progress in to all stakeholders, with clear measurement metrics e.g project burndown, coverage, performance, effectiveness etc.
    • Collaborate with product and commercial teams to guide the team on scope
    • Challenge the status-quo, keep high standards for quality and customer satisfaction
    • Represent engineering team on different forums and in leadership updates
    • Foster a culture builds on Wabtec’s Vision, Mission, Values and Behaviors

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Information Technology is required

    • A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in software, field testing and/or software validation principles and automation tools

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience as software lead or manager driving strategy and execution

    • Experience working with embedded technologies

    • Proven track record of technical contribution

    • Ability to influence team and technical decisions

    • Strong communication skills including the ability to present to customers and Wabtec Executives in a clear and concise manner

    • Expertise in engineering methodologies and tools

    • Previous experience leading teams, either in a direct or matrixed environment

    Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $89100-126900 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
