Essential Functions:
· Manage import and export transport and compliance to FDA and Customs regulations
· Lead the international export/import shipping and documentation process including product availability, accurate and timely processing, fulfillment of all necessary customs documents, freight arrangement, tracking, communication, and customer inquiry follow up
· Accountable to delivering International Shipping goals and KPI’s
· Work with international suppliers on timely freight pickup, adherence to Incoterms, and freight arrangement
· Educate and train internal and external customers on international shipping processes as it relates to compliant documentation and shipping guidelines
· Participate in cross-functional projects to support global logistics and trade initiatives.
· Provide expertise around the requirements to meet objectives as well as cost/benefit analyses associated with new ventures
· Consolidate split domestic orders for export with required documentation, valuation, and classification
· Ability to quickly offer multi-modal international freight comparisons
· Manage 3rd party logistics providers, freight forwarders, steamship lines, and carrier relationships
· Organize the creation and distribution of bid proposals, contracts, pricing negotiations and selection of these services
· Develop and maintain monthly operational reporting and KPI’s to create awareness and accountability within the transportation team
· Work with suppliers and warehouse management to coordinate container loading / unloading dates and times
· Financial Acumen to monitor and manage freight cost, spend, and recovery
· Lead and leverage an integrated freight program across all NA Invacare subsidiaries while supporting each operation local requirements
· Lead International transportation corporate audits and monitor adherence to procedures
· Support and suggest company Legal counsel on compliance
· Provide day-to-day assistance to business as needed on compliance requirements
· Develop and utilize performance metrics (KPI’s) for reporting to management, continuous improvement, and deliver measurable gains to freight, compliance, cost, and service
· Participate in appropriate industry associations
· Ensure that all required training is identified for and completed by all direct reports.
· Evaluate staffing needs and costs; identifies, hires and promotes individuals with the right skills and competencies necessary to achieve superior results.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
· 7+ years of International Logistics work experience
· Extensive with Classification, Country of Origin, Free Trade Agreements, Tariff
· ERP experience in Oracle and/or SAP a plus
· Excellent leadership, project management and team building skills with a proven record of accomplishment
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task, perform well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and meet deadlines
· Able to address / influence a wide range of cultures, disciplines and levels within a global organization
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to yield engaging presentations on subject matter
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; solutions oriented
· Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business environment
· Advanced in MS Office Suite
