Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op (Fall 2021)

  • Responsibilities


    Be part of our difference! As a Manufacturing Engineering co-op, you will gain exposure to technical challenges and can drive impact in areas such as: safety leadership, process improvement, productivity, waste elimination, and total productive maintenance.


    Engineering Co-ops are placed at an Owens Corning manufacturing plant for approximately 16 weeks during the term. Throughout this time, the participant is mentored by seasoned technical professionals and completes assigned project work. Projects will provide participants with direct experience on the technical challenges found in the manufacturing setting and will be in the areas of:

    • Safety leadership
    • Process and product improvement
    • Productivity increases
    • Waste elimination
    • Total Productive Maintenance

    In addition, the participant will be expected to develop the following competencies essential to be an effective manufacturing engineer:

    • Creativity
    • Customer driven
    • Analytics & data based decision making
    • Independence and initiative
    • Works effectively and cooperatively with others
    • Elevates performance of self and others
    • Builds rapport for success

    Outstanding participants may be offered full-time employment in one of Owens Corning’s Manufacturing focused Early Career Development Programs at the conclusion of their experience, to commence following graduation. The Manufacturing Leadership Program is used to recruit and develop technical and operations leaders for Owens Corning.

  • Qualifications


    • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field from an accredited school
    • Previous relevant internships/co-ops in a manufacturing setting (ie. Plant)
    • Demonstrated leadership in professional, service, or social organizations
    • Willingness and flexibility to relocate- Amarillo, TX, Delmar, NY, Fairburn, GA, Irving, TX, Waxahachie, TX (Housing Stipends are provided by Owens Corning)
