We partner with our client's Human Resources departments to manage Workers' Compensation, Disability, and/or Leave of absences until the claim is resolved or the employee returns to work. Our highly customer-centric approach is to reflect the culture of our clients to make the experience seamless for employees. Our mobile app technology provides ease of use to our clients and their employees in reporting claim information. Position Summary The Internal Communications Intern will serve as an internal communications partner with senior leadership to develop communications strategies and tactics to support business goals and initiatives, and ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and other stakeholders. This is a part-time position (20-25 hours/week). Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and manage internal communication strategy among Matrix senior leadership, management and employees Develop and manage an internal communications calendar with senior leadership Simplify complex internal communication content into easy-to-understand communications Create engaging internal communications Leverage Matrix's established Vision Statement and company goals to communicate effectively Identify, use, and develop effective means of communicating with employees Manage internal communications mediums, such as the Matrix intranet, email bulletins, social media, and others as developed Ability to work on the layout and design of communications content Storyboard or translate ideas to senior management for consideration and approval Deliver presentations at organizational events Draft messages or scripts from senior leadership for presentations to employees in written or spoken form Ensure internal communications are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization Ensure internal communications are consistent with external communications Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly Work with marketing department to coordinate internal and external communications across sister and parent companies Education, Qualifications and Experience: BA in journalism, communications, public relations, or marketing preferred; or equivalent work experience High degree of proficiency and skill in writing, editing and proofreading Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, such as Word and Powerpoint Speaking skills to give presentations to staff and management Explain communications techniques, proposed initiatives, and other job-related issues to senior management with confidence Experience with graphics, layouts, text content, and other components to create original and captivating communications Journalistic ability to source stories from employees Interpersonal and relationship-building skills Information technology, especially digital and video means of communication Essential Physical/Cognitive Job Functions Prompt and regular attendance at assigned job locations, in accordance with agreed work schedule Ability to interact with employees of all levels in an appropriate manner Ability to think strategically Regular availability onsite to meet with staff members and leadership Ability to review and analyze data and information Ability to complete, or oversee the completion of, assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner EEO Statement Matrix Absence Management is an equal opportunity employer.
