Best known for Little Debbie® snack cakes, Americas leading snack cake brand, Sunbelt Bakery® granola products, and Drakes Cakes®, McKee Foods Corporation is seeking a student Intern who will work in our Risk Management department. nbsp;Starting immediately, the ideal candidate has the potential to work and learn with us throughout his/her college career. nbsp;This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience with a company that is committed to providing consumers with quality products at an excellent value. nbsp;McKee Foods is a privately held, family owned company with an 84 year history of innovation and treating employees with respect, and a deeply held belief in the importance of doing business with integrity.nbsp;nbsp; Schedule Monday - Thursday, flexible schedule between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (20 hrs or more per week and up to full time hours during school breaks) Job Summary As a Risk Management Intern, you will work with our Corporate Risk Management team that is responsible for identifying and mitigating company-wide risks. The team works as a liaison with executive, property and casualty insurance carriers and brokers. The intern will work with Risk Management, Corporate Safety, Health and Wellness, Employee Health Services, Accounting, Engineering and other groups as they learn the risk management process, claims and insurance requirements for the corporation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Lead the Risk Management Information System implementation

    • Work with cross-functional teams and assist with facilitating project planning sessions and project status meetings * Capture notes and action items during regular team meetings and project team meetings * Perform follow-up on action items and specific tasks, and work within a project plan * Performs day-to-day tasks such as managing information, requests, reports, approvals, etc. * Performs department specific duties including creating, updating, and managing department documents and/or contributing to department projects, metrics, etc. * Manages schedules the department and coordinates meetings Required Qualifications * Currently pursuing a four-year college or masters degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Supply Chain or related field * Junior, Senior or Masters student * Strong Microsoft Suite (specifically Excel) skills * Analytical skills with the ability to see the big picture * Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities * Interpersonal skills that promote teamwork and relationship building across all levels of the organization nbsp; * Strong verbal and written communication skills * High level of initiative and confidentiality * Ability to perform with minimal supervision * Ability to work with a diverse customer base * Willingness and ability to work during school breaks Preferred Qualifications * 3.0 or higher overall grade point average * Prior insurance, claims, or risk mitigation experience * Technical ability or experience with software implementations * Project management experience * Advanced Excel skills * Ability to extract information from databases Benefits (for intern new hires) * Competitive pay scale * Flexible hours around school schedule * 401(k) with matching contributions * Direct deposit payroll * Credit Union * Exercise and recreation facility Please note: Spare and limited and provisional employees (including interns) are not eligible for some company benefits.
