JOB TITLE: Drafter

LOCATION: Binghamton, NY

SUMMARY

Use SolidWorks to design, produce and revise manufacturing and customer detail drawings. Produce new product drawings per customer request. Work with New Product Development (NPD) teams to create new product offerings.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use SolidWorks software to revise drawings per request on EWR
• Use SolidWorks software to create customer and manufacturing drawings per request on inquiry
• Produce calculations to support dimensional changes
• Update prototype drawings to production
• Produce a drawing of a new product family, that can be produced in a cost-effective manner

Will work to promote Health, Safety, and Environmental practices along with the safety and well-being of the individual. Responsible for the day-to-day execution of safety processes while remaining mindful that nothing is more important than performing the job safely. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Must have a strong eye for detail, and be driven to an accuracy of work
• Ability to visualize 3D designs 
• Ability to create new product offering with little direction
• Leverages experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Associate Degree in Mechanical Drafting or equivalent experience
• 5 years mechanical design experience

Additional Experience preferred:

• ANSI Drafting standards
• 3D Solid modeling, preferably SoldWorks
• EWR System
• 2 years Lean Manufacturing experience
• 3 to 5 years troubleshooting experience
