The Screening & Compound Profiling Department is seeking interns interested in participating in a robust and upcoming peptide screening platform known as mRNA display, either as part of an independent research project or a drug discovery team. The intern will learn how to apply a suite of complementary, modern capabilities to problem solve in support of the Merck large molecule pipeline. Potential involvement in a scientific publication may occur as a result of this research. We are seeking internship candidates with excellent academic performance, communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in a multi-functional environment. A strong science background in biochemistry, biology or chemistry is essential. This is a full- time internshipposition. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student. Qualifications Education: -Required:Candidates must be a currently enrolled undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior student pursuingaBachelors degree in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular/cellular pharmacology, engineering, analytical chemistry, computer science or cheminformatics. Required Experience and Skills: -Candidates must have completed at least (2) years of studies toward bachelors degree by June 2019. -Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) consecutive weeks beginning in May or June of 2019.
