This individual will support the development and implementation of projects in Global Oncology Marketing and Operations. As a Summer Intern Specialist, you should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive experience utilizing PowerPoint, Word and Excel. You should have an interest in the Oncology pharmaceutical field and have some marketing or sales experience or have taken courses relevant to the position. While working as a Summer Intern Specialist, you will work closely with the marketing team and other cross-functional teams in the preparation and delivery of various marketing tactics, projects and conferences to support the strategic marketing plans. Primary responsibilities and projects include the following: -Assist marketing team in monthly global supply and operations meetings -Support key scientific congress planning initiatives -Work across cross-functional team providing commercial insights to support regulatory strategy for key oncology product -Support continuous improvement for ongoing launch planning dashboard -Assist with project management -Seek and analyze competitor product image information -Prepare presentations and key outputs on project This is a full- time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.Qualifications Education Minimum Requirement: -Candidates must be planning toreturn to school after completing his internship in fall of 2019 Required Experience and Skills: -Candidates must be available for a period of 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2019. -Candidates must haveexperience and success in cross-functional collaboration. -Candidates musthavestrong knowledge of marketing and/or business principles. -Candidates musthave astute business decision, analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into a recommendation. -Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and follow-up skills -Candidates must have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook required -Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills required -Candidates must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Experience and Skills: -Preferred candidates have prior experience in pharmaceutical setting (e.g., Marketing, Market Access functions) or Specialty/Oncology business. -Preferred candidates have organizational and project management skills -Preferred candidates the ability to prioritize in a changing environment -Preferred candidates have a marketing background or business education Your role at Merck is integral to helping the world meet new breakthroughs that affect generations to come, and were counting on your skills and inventiveness to help make meaningful contributions to global medical advancement.
