Microchip has an opportunity for a Parametric Device/Test Engineer at our Fab 5 facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Responsibilities As a Parametric Device Engineer with Microchip Corporation, you will provide frontend device engineering and test support on a wide portfolio of products and technologies in our high volume wafer fabrication facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We are looking to hire a talented, highly motivated engineer to be part of our team. Your responsibilities will include: * Driving parametric test yield improvements through test optimization and by working closely with yield enhancement, technology development, and process engineering on needed process and test improvements. * Supporting a high volume manufacturing operation by ensuring test capabilities are setup for new products and by providing disposition support in support of daily ship goals. * Supporting new technology introductions * Developing and optimizing parametric test programs used to evaluate the processing quality of material that has been fabricated * Driving test time reduction, rework reduction, and OEE improvement in support of increasing capacity * Managing and improving overall engineering operation, including specifications and procedures * Supervising area technicians * Driving continuous improvements * Verifying results on SPA * Completing MSA studies Job Requirements Job Requirements Experience * BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Microelectronics or related * 6.5+ years of experience Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Good understanding of transistors and semiconductor device physics. * Good understanding of wafer fab processing techniques. * Good understanding of SPC and 5S * Good experience in design of experiments, data analysis and problem solving techniques. * Ability to measure electrical characteristics on devices and products and ability to explain measurements and results to peers and management. * Expertise in engineering fundamentals to support core job functions, including ability to sustain, analyze, modify, and improve integrated circuit manufacturing processes. * Ability to work in a dynamic environment and deliver results. * Track record of self-motivated learning. * Strong teamwork skills. * Programming experience. * Knowledge of Agilent, Keithley, and Reedholm test platforms is a plus. * Knowledge and ability to use computer tools such as spreadsheets, Excel, Word, statistical analysis software, and SPC software * Demonstrated ability to deliver improvements within a team environment. * Legal authorization to work in the U.S. Interpersonal Skills * Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally with all levels of an organization and lead problem solving/quality improvement activities.Includes developing and communicating low yield analysis, new product status, and yield improvement plan status to management, Process Engineering and Product Engineering. * Ability to define problems/issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. * Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables and with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Language Skills * Read, interpret, and analyze technical procedures and specifications. * Respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business and technical community. * Present regular updates on yield status of assigned products in a group presentation format.
