    Intern - SSD Firmware Engineer FTL - Date: Dec 6, 2018 Location: Boise, ID, US Company: Micron Req. ID: 125112 As a SSD Firmware Engineer intern in the SSD Engineering group at Micron Technology, Inc., you will help develop high-performance controller firmware for innovative Solid-State Drives (SSDs). In this position, you will assist in performing failure analysis, evaluating, designing, and building firmware for new high-performance memory controllers and SSD's that will increase performance, while reducing power, latency and SoC complexity for the target markets. You will also troubleshoot code for firmware applications. You can expect to work closely with FW development engineers, system test engineers, system failure analysis engineers, firmware test engineers, system hardware design engineers, product engineers, memory design engineers, and production engineers to solve cross-functional product development issues. Responsibilities: Responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to, the following: - Code/Document/test new features of Solid state drives. - Work with Firmware team to coordinate development of new SSD features and resolve issues - Assist Firmware engineers to test and develop Unit tests for FW features - Manage daily SSD firmware testing and prepare reports - Maintain test environment and test scripts. Qualifications: Successful candidates for this position will have: - Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to find creative solutions to difficult problems. - Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and designing and developing firmware using and C/C++ programming. - The ability to analyze complex firmware and hardware issues. - A high level of self-motivation and dedication. - The ability to work well on a team based in different global locations. - The ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Knowledge of Python, SSD concepts, and Agile is Plus Education: BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. Must be continuing education in Fall of 2019 (i.e. Expected graduation date should be after September 1st, 2019).
