    WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

    The Mold Design Intern is responsible for working with the tool designer to design, develop, and maintain precise molds, tooling, and components used in the manufacturing process of injection-molded products. Working closely with engineering and production teams, the designer ensures that tools meet performance, quality, and safety standards. This role demands strong technical expertise in CAD software, material selection, and mold-making processes, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and optimize tooling for maximum efficiency and longevity. 

    Essential Functions

    • Maintain all current tool drawings and revise tool prints to reflect red-line updates
    • Update tool drawings to current for manufacturability
    • Provide SolidWorks and large plotter support
    • Lead tool design review process for internal tool designs
    • Participate in reviews for external tool designs
    • Maintain MQ1 tasks under ownership
    • Order components for new tool builds
    • Support construction of prototype and production tooling through best practices
    • Support Engineering and Tool Makers and other customers requesting tool information
    • Exhibit safety awareness and model safe work practices in all aspects of the job.

    Qualifications

    • Currently pursuing/enrolled in accredited college/university pursuing degree (Bachelors or Masters) within Engineering degree with preference in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering or polymer/material science related field.
