    The University of Montana, Department of Psychology, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in our APA-accredited clinical psychology program to begin Fall, 2020. The Univeristy, the College of Humanities and Sciences, and the Department embrace diversity as a core value.  Applications from persons with diverse backgrounds are especially welcome. A doctoral degree in clinical psychology is required at the time of appointment. Duties include graduate/undergraduate teaching, departmental and university service, research, clinical supervision of graduate students, and supervision of students’ doctoral and master’s research. The typical teaching load is two courses per semester. Potential instructional areas include practicum, ethics, health psychology, research methods, history and systems of psychology, and clinical psychology fundamentals. We seek candidates with a record of excellence in teaching and with evidence of research productivity and clinical experience in integrated care and health psychology. Eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in Montana is required; licensure is an expectation of the position.

     

    About the Department, UM, and Missoula

    The Department of Psychology, located in the College of Humanities and Sciences, has 17 full-time faculty members and currently offers PhD degrees in clinical psychology, school psychology, and experimental psychology. Our PhD programs in clinical and school psychology are APA-accredited. The department offers and encourages opportunities to develop teaching and research interests that bridge departmental and college areas, and the department provides clinical training experiences in an on-site clinic. New faculty members are provided research support, including lab space, a reasonable teaching load, and start-up funds to establish their program of research. Salary is competitive in the region.
