Here's how this role will help: * Work with the Latest Technologies - You will work with a team of data professionals, in a cloud-based environment, working on building automated data workflows and building out models on the Azure platform. You will automate, prepare and model the datasets for analytics. You will also get a chance to work on some of the latest technologies in the data engineering and big data field such as Spark, Data Lake Analytics, Data Lake Store, U-SQL along with tools like Alteryx. * Develop and Enhance Data Science Engineering and Big Data Skill Sets - You should be comfortable developing data models, big data, integration and engineering with minimal supervision. We expect you to have a solid foundation developing data models which to build upon over the course of the internship. You will develop / build the automated data flows either into the data lake or into Spark. * Build Strong Partnerships - We are striving to integrate advanced analytics into our everyday culture. You will be asked to work with the business experts to understand what they want to solve. Then work closely with our data scientist team to help us overcome the hardest challenges, breakdown the data silos, connect the disparate parts and champion the data-driven culture. * Data Science Engineering Internship Responsibilities * Identify and implement the data solutions, to support the efforts of the advanced analytics team. * Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources. * Mine the data to drive valuable datasets to help tell the story of the data * Develop automated data flows to move data through our system. * Collaborate closely with the Data Science team to build a strong big data foundation. Here are the minimum qualifications and essential functions for this position: * Must possess knowledge of data, integration, data modeling, engineering, and/or a related advanced analytics field of study. * Must possess a professional or academic exposure to data science engineering concepts, modeling, development and tools on a variety of platforms, frameworks, and methodologies (i.e. Python, Spark, HDFS, C#, SQL, etc..). * The successful candidate will have preferably completed a minimum of their sophomore year and be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a STEM degree program, or a related field of study. Masters degree preferred. A minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred; however, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. Why Mylan?
