  • Responsibilities

    The Systems Administrator supports and maintains all IT system platforms and software for our La Vergne, Tennessee manufacturing facility. In addition to maintaining the infrastructure, the Systems Administrator will provide end user support for approximately 80 users.

    • Installs, maintains, and supports virtual and physical servers in a primarily Windows and VMWare environment.
    • Installs, maintains, and supports end user equipment including desktops, laptops, tablets, telephones, and related software.
    • Creates and maintains users, security groups, distribution lists in Active Directory and Office 365.
    • Ensures software licensing compliance.
    • Enforces system security standards and computing policies.
    • Maintains adequate documentation of all systems, software, and tasks.
    • Ensures adequate backups are maintained.
    • Responds to system failures and performs installation and maintenance tasks during off hours as required.
    • Updates and tests disaster recovery plan.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • A+, Network+, CCNA, MCSE and/or MCSA, VMWare, Security certifications preferred.
    • Five or more years’ experience with end user support and server administration.
    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks on time with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to discern user requirements and translate them into solutions with a strong customer service orientation.
    • Aptitude for learning new technologies.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Strong background configuring and deploying end user devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones as well as supporting end user desktop hardware, operating systems, and related applications.
    • Experience configuring and deploying Windows Servers in an Active Directory environment, small/branch office server and storage hardware.
    • Experience with VMWare virtualization technologies, basic networking concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Veeam Backup and recovery and related DR concepts, administering servers and workstations with Microsoft SCCM, and maintaining back office and remote communications solutions including wired and wireless network and telephony systems.
    • Familiarity with ITIL or similar ITSM frameworks.
    • Understanding of information security vulnerabilities and risk management.
    • Experience with Cognos, IBM iSeries (AS400), and JD Edwards, Azure a plus, but not required.
