    Position Title: Tool & Die Maker


    Pay Status: Hourly


    Departments: Operations

    Position Relationships:

    Supervised by: Senior Engineer, Process

    Supervises: N/A

    Essential Functions:

    • Demonstrates safe and proper set-up, use and inspection of equipment such as fixtures, jigs, dies, hand tools, power tools and bits, gauges and measurements, heat treating equipment, etc.
    • Reads and interprets engineering prints and is able to perform mathematical calculations from a tool print or information supplied from other sources such as sketches, samples, etc.
    • Builds dies, welds/brazes fixtures, drills fixtures, gauges, special machines and materials handling aids
    • Assists in the repair and/or sharpening of dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and special machines
    • Ensures repairs are accurate
    • Participates in tool capability studies on new tooling
    • Adheres to all departmental procedures on reporting time, materials, rework, etc.
    • Adheres to all safety policies
    • Performs predictive/preventative maintenance as necessary
    • Performs job in accordance with regulatory requirements
    • Maintains an organized and clean working environment
    • Complete all required training applicable to assigned position
    • Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.

    Qualifications:

    • High School graduate or equivalent
    • Four years formal trade training or equivalent
    • Five years work experience
    • Demonstrated skills to perform all tool and die operations
    • Effective communication skills
    • Effective problem-solving skills
    • Ability to read blueprints
    • Demonstrated ability to calibrate measuring devices
    • Must have thorough understanding of quality systems and their relationship to job performance including ISO Overview, corrective/preventative actions and work instructions
    • Must have physical ability and manual dexterity necessary to perform the duties pertaining to job
    • Must complete all applicable training specified in Training Checklist Document #TC102

  • Qualifications

     

    • Basic knowledge of general warehouse environment.
    • Able to stock, move, jog, arrange, unload, count and rotate items on/off equipment.
    • Basic skill in the use of manual dollies, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers and related equipment.
    • Previous printing experience preferred, but not required.
    • Job requires ability to lift 20 to 50 pound cartons or mail trays, repetitively.
    • Able to read, copy and record figures and involves simple addition and subtraction.
