    POSITION SUMMARY:  Under the direct supervision of Director, Enterprise Server Operations with wide latitude to exercise independent initiative and judgement as well as assume supervisory duties when necessary, the Mobile Device Management (MDM) Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day Mobile Device Management (MDM) efforts. This position will be responsible for requirements gathering, test plan development, application testing, creation and implementation of integration procedures and will create and maintain system operating (OS) configuration for MDM enrollment as well as high-quality deliverables articulating requirements, configurations and test plans. The MDM Specialist is responsible for average inventory and reporting related tasks. Performs related work.

    KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Interacts with team members of the Devices and Imaging, Infrastructure, Server Operations, and Security teams as well as Borough Technology Directors and field staff. Interacts with all levels of management staff and project teams to orchestrate and facilitate the resolution of problems and competing priorities. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vendor interactions will account for fifty percent of the communications.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Works with engineers, application developers, school and central based staff to plan, design, develop, build, test and deploy new MDM solutions (Intune, Azure AD, JAMF and Google cloud solution ). Collaborates and helps design and execute the technical implementation of SCCM and Intune Co-Management (Hybrid) solutions based on the organization’s requirements and design specifications.
    • Ensures that all mobile devices and activations are in compliance with our policies and procedures as well as design, test and support hardware, permissions/scopes creation, software and cloud services. Assist different teams and customers with application packaging and deployment, managing, tracking and providing compliance reports to customers and management as well as ensuring all security related organizational standards are met and compliant.
    • Provides recommendations around SCCM vs. Intune and/or hybrid implementations, collaboratively working with other SCCM /MDM specialists and engineers in improving processes related with day-to-day SCCM / Intune Co-Management service delivery.
    • Acts as the project leader in support of other organizational teams and is responsible for system architecture, tracking and troubleshooting mobile devices as well as administering Intune, Azure AD, JAMF and Google cloud solution environment for our organization. In the absence of a supervisor, may perform the duties of that position.
    • Articulates and documents pros and cons of the architecture decisions for Intune and Azure AD, JAMF and Google cloud solution across a wide spectrum of factors - e.g. latency, storage, startup/shutdown, compatibility etc. recommending solutions that aligns with our organizational needs and requirements.
    • Works collaboratively with other organizational partners both remotely and in person to successfully complete organization wide projects providing configuration recommendation, guidance, oversight and assistance for Intune and Azure AD, JAMF and Google cloud solution deployment to team members.
    • Manages, maintains, supports, troubleshoots and optimizes the Intune/Azure AD, JAMF and Google cloud solutions on a consistent basis as it relates to device and identity management suggesting and applying adjustments and new system designs for future organizational needs.
    • Acts as the SME (subject matter expert) and collaboratively working with vendors, both on and off site, that support our MDM solutions (Intune, Azure AD, JAMF and Google cloud solution) responding to requests from internal and authorized external business units in a timely manner.
    • Leads execution of test plan to assert application functionality, rollout, RBAC/Delegated controls and performance in DOE school environments (wireless, wired, browser types, plugins, etc.) with DOE staff, administrators and consultants for installations. Provide insight and troubleshooting of Intune, JAMF, Google cloud solutions (present and future releases) ensuring all security related organizational standards are met and remain compliant.
    • Interfaces with the Microsoft Office 365 cloud with ActiveSync in the current Intune/Azure a cloud environment supporting the development of new MDM non-Intune related solutions.
    • Assumes duties of supervisor when necessary.

     

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

     

    MINIMUM

    In addition to meeting the minimum Qualification Requirements, individuals must have an additional two years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience in computer systems development and analysis, applications programming, database administration, maintenance and support, systems programming, data communications, mainframe development, mobile development, web development and design.

     

    PREFERRED

     

    • Azure/Intune certifications AZ-900, AZ-104.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Experience writing integration scripts for execution; self-starter with the ability to take initiative when working with vendors and business users.
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work in a team environment, managing multiple priorities, commitments and projects while maintaining a positive attitude towards change and ability to adapt.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as proficient in documenting technical requirements.
    • Experience with developing comprehensive technical test plans to assert functional, operational and security requirements.
    • Background in image creation and Mobile OS and application deployments in a large enterprise environment.
    • Strong working knowledge of Windows 7, 8, 10; Mac OS X 10.3 – 10.14.x; Android; Chrome OS; and IOS.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft MDT / SCCM / Intune, JAMF, Google Management Console and Apple School Manager or equivalent.
    • Strong working knowledge of Active directory and Azure Active directory.
    • Experience testing web applications, application creating, packaging and deploying via Intune, JAMF and Google cloud solutions as well as creating, assigning and maintaining all related permissions and scopes across all cloud-based MDM platforms.
    • Knowledge of networking, including IP address and high-level analysis of network captures.
    • Knowledge of network services such as DNS, DHCP, Network File System, Wi-Fi and other peripheral and printing services.
    • Experience with education or other online/remote learning environments.
    • Strong working knowledge of popular web browsers, including Internet Explorer 11, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Edge, etc.

     

    SALARY: $98,177+

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Partner with Sales and Account Management resources to scope and solution opportunities
    • Assume sales consulting leadership for specific opportunities, including serving as a SME in the sale of RRD solutions into new opportunities (e.g., RFP’s)
    • Gather, analyze, translate and document detailed business/functional/user requirements following Scrum methodologies
    • Create technical documentation and user requirements/project documents including Business Requirements Document (BRD), Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Wire Frames and test cases related to solutions
