PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The General Manager directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production and other production-related activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations
- Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
- Develop production plans to affect profits and budget
- Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries
- Manages capital asset maintenance
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards
- Control and minimize labor overtime
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
- Incorporates shop floor Organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel
- Provides direction, development and leadership to production team
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related experience
- 7+ years of experience in perishable or short shelf life operations
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- Proven leadership abilities through on-the-job experience
- Dedication to developing direct reports
- Sense of urgency, extreme accuracy, detail oriented, able to raise and effectively deal with issues at all levels of management
- Adept at communicating at various levels in the organization
- Ability to suggest procedures to improve processes
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Produce or Fresh Cut vegetable industry
