Novo Nordisk is currently building a new diabetes API plant in Clayton, NC next to our existing facility that employs 800 people. The new plant will initially employ 700 employees to produce the active ingredients for a new diabetes oral treatment and a range of other diabetes drugs. Here you will work with the best manufacturing professionals in the industry, while learning and taking part in the plant design. Job Summary As part of constructing Novo Nordisks new state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Clayton, NC, we are setting up the Environmental Monitoring Program for our new facility. The environmental monitoring program includes gowning & behavior, environmental sampling, cleanroom design & construction, facility cleaning, and material transfer, among other things. As a Quality Control Intern at Novo Nordisk your duties in support of setting up the Environmental Monitoring Program will include some or all of the following: - Managing at least 1 Quality Control area improvement project - Supporting the writing of SOPs, test plans and protocols related to the Environmental Monitoring program - Assisting with data review and organization of technical documents - Participating in the qualification of sampling equipment - Assisting with tasks related to handover of cleanrooms from construction team to operation team - Assisting with work related to laboratory testing - Other duties as assigned Required Education: - Must be a rising junior, rising senior or graduate student with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale at the time of application - Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or other science-related major Experience: - 0-6 months of work-related experience. Technical/Process/Functional Knowledge: - Cleanroom design and facility handover - Technical writing and interpretation of technical documents - Microbiological testing and laboratory techniques Organization/Planning: - Ability to execute testing according to a structured plan.
