The Position Provide analytical support by proactively monitoring business developments and market trends, research, project coordination, and maintains related tools and systems required by Novo Nordisks US brands. Develop, refine and update quantitative tracking models and systems, along with documented supporting assumptions. Develop communications materials including slides and reports reflecting clear and concise conclusions and recommendations for key stakeholders. Proactively support brand team in developing strategic vision via in-depth portfolio and brand-specific market analyses. Provide support to strategic insights into understanding of channel performance, pull-through, as well as ability to triangulate multiple sources to develop innovative solutions to complex, unstructured problems with limited guidance. Provide primary market research support via tactical execution and management of driving holistic insights generation inclusive of guidance on recruitment strategies, identification and complementing business gaps, ensuring efficiencies through specific market research projects and internal processes related to market understanding. Helps senior market researchers provide strategic and tactical guidance to all levels of brand management and other functional areas via primary and secondary research. Relationships Reports to Commercial Insights & Analytics leader. Internal relationships include close interactions with cross functional colleagues in Commercial Insights & Analytics (CI&A), Finance, Marketing, Medical, Market Access as well as global partners. External relationships include interactions with external data partners, consultants, and market research partners. Essential Functions - Develop and sustain close working relationships with key business partners, including commercial, medical and operations business colleagues (US & Global) as required - Proactively monitors areas of concern or opportunity for enhancements and provides recommendations/proposals, supports relevant analysis as needed - Development and execution of presentations with clear storylines, grounded on holistic business concepts and communicate key conclusions and business recommendations/implications (what/so what and now what) to business partners and peers through formal and informal channels - Contribute to hypothesis driven investigations into detailed channel dynamics, prescriber, patient and transactional data - Maintains catalogue of standardized market definitions and analytical business rules used within the analyses and reports, while proactively monitoring areas of concern or opportunity for enhancements - Maintains and develops (in close collaboration with internal IT) databases and analytic applications in environments such as SAP, Excel/Access, and/or other proprietary environments - Updates and processes secondary data feeds from industry sources (e.g. IQVIA, Decision Resources, prescriber, payer, patient and promotional sources, etc) and internal data (call files, sales data, etc.) into excel and/or other custom programs - Creates and update the catalogue of standardized market definitions and analytical business rules used within the analyses and reports - Supports and develops analyses for team and business partners and other business groups (e.g. identification of key performance indicators/leading indicators, ad-hoc customer segment-level reports and trend reports for internal teams) - Support the planning process development of market and brand-based situation analysis to identify trends, gaps and opportunities, as well as relevant identification and development of metrics (key performance indicators and leading indicators) by partnering with Insights and Analytics team, as well as other peers in Commercial Insights & Analytics and business colleagues - Interprets and contextualizes analytical findings within the framework of existing body of research and market trends - Supports development of distinct, actionable business recommendations and implications. Support insights and analytics team with the development and design of key lines of investigation via custom analysis and assessments utilizing relevant and appropriate data sources and business resource - Supports the development of recommendations via presentations with clear storylines to communicate key conclusions and actionable recommendations through formal and informal channels - Maintains master-calendar of key deliverables, including lead times for editing and approval processes - Works with commercial Insights & Analytics leaders in the development, maintenance and update of national-level business and market tracking analyses according to a defined schedule - Proactively streamlines and documents processes supporting the generation of business insights and tracking reports Physical Requirements 10-20% overnight travel required. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Math, Science, or Engineering preferred - MBA or advanced degree a plus - A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in marketing, market research, forecasting, sales analysis, finance, pricing, or other related areas required - Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative analysis skills required. - Knowledge and understanding of Healthcare Professional (HCP) DATA/IQVIA data and/or other secondary industry sources preferred - Experience/working knowledge within several areas a plus such as Tableau, Qlik Sense, SAS, or R strongly preferred - Experience in mathematical modeling for prediction, clustering and classification - Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills. - MS Access or other database platform required - Creative problem solving; ability to organize/manipulate data and see big picture from scattered pieces of information - Strong writing, presentation, project management skills required. - Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines - Positive and eagerness to learn, collaborate and partner with internal business colleagues Novo Nordisk is an Equal Opportunity Employer - M/F/Veteran/Disability/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity.
