  • Responsibilities

    Manage the Maintenance and Facilities Departments in order to ensure equipment reliability and availability.  Ensure auxiliary equipment (compressors, HVAC, vacuum systems, back-up generator, etc) are fully functional at all times. Ensure full completion of scheduled preventive maintenance. 

    Drive the process of continuous improvement through the use of the 7 Quality Basics including QRCI’s; focusing on increasing customer satisfaction by improving on-time delivery, reducing waste, increasing efficiency (OEE) and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes.

    • Lead and manage the Technical Service Departments. Work cross-functionally with internal teams and the corporate industrial coordination team.
    • Ensure a rigorous routine is established and that all efforts are aligned with Lean manufacturing principles.
    • Define and communicate performance targets established through the department policy deployment (department governance).
    • Work with business partners to determine appropriate projects to focus on using data driven decisions.
    • Manage the Maintenance project list related to reducing Unit Transformation Cost
    • Manage the project CMMS System and spare parts inventory
    • Participate in QRCI’s to determine the root cause of problems. Participate in plant level resolution efforts.
    • Interface with internal departments and corporate industrialization to ensure equipment and preventive maintenance checks are in line with process demands.
    • Work with production and facilities to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are maintained; following the CMMS system, maintain equipment capability through proper autonomous and preventative maintenance programs.
    • Oversee with maintenance and the corporate equipment & industrialization teams the justification, planning, scheduling and installation of machines and tools required for operations and quality.
    • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with plant management and other business partners on the execution of policy deployment and establishing employee involvement programs (Kaizens, SMED, 5s, Kami Shabai etc.)
    • Promote Lean Manufacturing principles with a focus on creating value and eliminating waste.
    • Establish an environment conducive to high levels of morale, employee’s satisfaction, and performance.
    • Deliver performance to budget. Use participative approach in budgeting process.
    • Ensure alignment of activities and resources within the team, and ensure cross-organization collaboration and employee’s involvement where appropriate.
    • Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback and encouragement to employees to promote the growth and development of the performance Technical Services team.
    • Continued personal growth and development, support and encourage continuous learning within the Technical Services team.

    Be highly visible to employees and create a safe environment for participation. Promote going to Gemba to solve problems and also promote hands-on, high involvement (QRCI’s) approaches to problem solving.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent, A.S., or B.S. preferred
    • 3-5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in technical support
    • Background in maintenance management, machine care, and inventory management
    • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance programs
    • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
    • Business acumen and knowledge
    • Ability to motivate employees in a leadership capacity; bias for action; energy for the business; demonstrates courage to make and act on difficult decisions; collaborates with employees; supports and fosters change; able to coach and develop associates within value stream; able to develop and maintain a respectful and safe work environment ; able to support and foster continuous improvement; able to effectively manage conflict
    • Strong knowledge of technical services and systems; strong knowledge of spare parts inventory management
    • Able to lead QRCI’s, develop and administer Single Point Lessons
