Position Description Medical Assistant Location US-TX-Freeport Job Code 5910 # of openings 1 Apply Now Job Brief The selected candidate will provide administrative and office professional support for the Epoxy 2 plant, located in plant B, part of Olin's Texas Operations integrated site in Freeport, Texas. Essential Job Functions: * Assist doctor and nurse as needed and schedule medical appointments. * Schedule referral appointments for employees on as needed basis. * Enter medical data into OHM. * Retrieve and copy lab results. * Track surveillance. * Track and file drug screenings. * Coordinate meetings, conference calls, etc. * General administrative duties including: mail distribution, ordering/maintaining supplies and medical forms; faxing, copying, and processing shipments. Maintain medical department * Archive files. * Locate archive files as needed. * Schedule and assist as needed with organizing corporate meetings, conference calls, etc. * Initiate incident reports * Assist doctor with conference calls and material needed * Report monthly Surveillance and UDS compliance. * Weekly surveillance report * Professionally courteously answer telephone and take messages or direct calls * E-mail correspondence for nurse or doctor for plant and Chlor Alkali distribution. * Expense reports for department. * Notify management regarding ambulance in plant. * Effectively interact with internal and external customers * Must be able to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure * Individual must be a highly motivated self-starter who can thrive in a team oriented environment * Hippa/confidentiality understanding and compliance Minimum Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum 3-5 years direct patient care/medical assistant experience required; medical assistant experience in an office environment preferred * CPR, First Aid, Blood borne Pathogen training required at hire * CAOHC and NIOSH PFT certification required within 1 year. Prefer DOT and BAT certifications or obtain within 1 year. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Knowledge of Miscrosoft Office software. * Working knowledge of basic math skills. * Good time management and organization skills. * Must be able to set priorities and be action oriented. *Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education *This position is not eligible for an expat assignment *A minimum requirement for this U.S. - based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).
