Portland, Maine. As an EHS Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a high tech environment assisting staff with various projects based on your specific field of study. ON Semiconductor embraces a strong Safety Culture which we are working towards at our factory. The Facility has ~ 300 employees and manufacturing operates around the clock. Currently we have one EHS Manager and in the process of hiring an additional Engineer with a background in Industrial Hygiene. __ Performance Objectives: __ This opportunity will ask a student to have the following performance objectives: * Manage equipment installations from an EHS standpoint ensuring adherence to local documents and applicable codes. * Enhance the sites labeling system to be compliant with Global Harmonization. * Ensure all chemicals on site have related Safety Data Sheets in our online system. * Perform review of local EHS documents and ensure compliance to corporate documents and related regulations. * Collaborate with employees at the site while performing Safety Surveys. * Lead other projects that may be directly related to your educational objective. In order to be considered for an internship, you must be a student currently enrolled in school pursuing an accredited degree program. This position is specifically looking for an Environmental, Health and or Safety Engineer. * Local candidates required * Completed 2 years of a 4 year related program. * Experience with Microsoft software: word, excel, Power point, etc. * Preferred experience working around chemicals, not required. __ ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ON) is driving energy efficient innovations, empowering customers to reduce global energy use.
