Staff Product Engineer Staff Product Engineer - ONSemiconductor San Jose, CA Job Summary: The Image Sensor Group (ISG) at ON Semiconductor is looking for aStaff Product Engineer to work cross functionally with marketing, technologydevelopment, design, quality assurance, pixel characterization, test andapplications engineering. In this positionyou will have the opportunity to involve the NPD (New Product Development) process from engineering perspectiveand drive new product introduction by taking sensors from design tomass productionfor consumer market. As a semiconductor product engineer you will be responsible for researching product technicalrequirements, validating its performance characteristics, and developing anefficient and effective production test for robust quality commitment and highyield delivery. During NPD, you will validate product performance,characterize performance, root-cause product issues, identify opportunitiesfor resolution, ultimately provide quality products to our end customersand create competitive cost structure as well. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to: * Define product validation requirements by working with cross functional teams, including design team, DFT team and test engineers to translate concepts into tests. * Validate design features, debug initial silicon, determines root cause of problems, and drive for solutions * Collaborate with test engineers to develop an effective and efficient manufacturing test on ATE for mass production * Drivingramp readiness with engineering and operations teams. * Participate in yield analysis, drive necessary improvement actions to improve yield. * Collaborate with application engineers & customers to enable successful system design * Work with reliability engineers to achieve successful qualification of products. * Failure analysis support for customer returned issue Requirements: * Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Semiconductor Engineering related field; Masters Degree preferred. * 3 years on semiconductor industry experience with minimum of 2 years hands on ATE experience * Good characteristic to work in a fast paced and highly dynamic work environment * Understanding of CMOS imager sensor architecture and operation is preferred. * Strong knowledge in test development, statistical analysis, and product validation methodologies * Ability to drive solutions across multiple cross-functional teams, and the supply chain. * Relevant experience in introducing products into manufacturing, or high volume production a large plus.
