PLANT CONTROLLER – A0350
Plant Controller:
The Controller is responsible for the company’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices, maintenance of fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports. This position involves supervision over staff within cost accounting, accounts payable, billing and collections, and finance, and is an integral member of the Nies (RR Donnelley) management team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the facility’s financial reporting processes, providing accurate and timely data to local, regional and corporate management
Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to evaluate operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other matters bearing on the financial and operating effectiveness of the company
Interpret financial data for management use in business decisions and identify opportunities for improvement in both plant operations and support processes impacting business effectiveness
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and be a key contributor in the annual strategic planning process
Effectively manage and develop the accounting/finance department staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and maintaining superior standards for accuracy and efficiency
Implement and maintain internal controls in line with corporate standards, GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years related experience in a public accounting and/or manufacturing accounting environment
Proven management-level skills in financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and inventory valuation, with strong track record of accurate and timely financial reporting
Proficient in use of accounting systems, implementation of corporate financial practices, analysis of financial and operating information to facilitate decision –making, and recommending actions to improve performance
Strong team-building and leadership skills
Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with subordinates, peers, and upper management
Proficient in Microsoft products, database software and other applicable accounting and financial software and systems
Effective verbal and written communication skills
CPA or CMA and knowledge of SAP preferred; experience in the commercial printing industry a plus
