Control & document defects, duplicates and other waste material. Inspect product for print defects and mixed content.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• In-process inspection (audits of processes & procedures) to program standards
• Reprints/Reworks; issuing reprints & reworks in DPCS
• Segregate duplicate items at MRB Station
• Maintain one order at a time procedures

Perform visual inspection of printed materials for defects, such as loose, torn, or wrinkled pages, missing staples, incorrect bindings, incorrect book cases, and warped laminated paperback covers.  Perform samples selection, taking random samples of publications from machine or table and examine the product for a variety of possible defects such as ragged edges, torn or wrinkled pages, incomplete cuts, incorrect bindings, smeared or blotched colors, dirt on the product, and any other visual defect that is out of specification.  Follow inspection checklist and record any identified defects.  Ensure that the products meet quality conformance specified by the customer.  Prepare written reports and provide notification to manufacturing management of known or found defects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 months experience and/or training in print facility focusing on quality.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic computer skills required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
