    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    The Operations Analyst intern will lead an Operations Analytics project that is focused and aligned to GAF's Operations objectives: to operate safely, maximize production of quality output, improve service on jobsite deliveries, and continue to drive down costs. The project will require driving analysis to achieve a set objective that will drive future strategy within a key segment of Operations. In this role, you will transform data into actionable insights and recommendations through delivering interactive reporting dashboards and / or formal presentations. Through applied analytics, you will have an impact on GAF Operations.

    As an Operations Analyst intern, you will be part of the Operations Analytics Team, which is responsible and accountable for cost, service, and process execution analyses related to the planning, production, warehousing, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods across our network of manufacturing sites and distribution partners. Operations Analysts deliver analysis, insights, reporting solutions / tools, data visualizations, and overall operations enhancements that drive service, cost savings, and business value across the entire operation. Additionally, the Operations Analysts are responsible for relative industry research, capturing insights or trends and developing solutions to drive action and assist in delivering desired results. Operations Analysts also participate in the development and completion of the annual budget, establishing key company goals that drive the operation forward.

    All Operations Analysts, including interns, work collaboratively with key leaders across GAF Operations and have the opportunity to lead major projects and strategic initiatives covering key areas such as manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, supply chain planning, and procurement. Operations Analysts work cross-functionally with key members from Business Intelligence, IT, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, and other key functions.

    TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets)

    • Proficiency in use of business intelligence software (i.e. Tableau , TM1, OLAP)

    • Intermediate level knowledge of predictive analytics programs or languages (i.e. Alteryx, R, Python, or other Statistical Methods)

    GENERAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

    • Advanced critical thinking, problem solving, & analytical skills

    • Advanced verbal and written communication skills

    • Excellent interpersonal skills

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Ability to multi-task & handle multiple projects simultaneously

    • Ability to work independently but also as a team player

    • Career interest and general knowledge of operations (manufacturing, supply chain / logistics, and procurement)

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    • Pursuit of BA/BS Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Business, or Finance
