    Operations Excellence School to Work

    Description

    Intern will be able to participate in coaching and development within the Manufacturing and Logistics departments and other various departments at the manufacturing plant. There will be opportunities to shadow individuals within the organization. Position will include working with a leader that has several years of Cummins experience. Interns will be able to participate in a full calendar of intern events including leadership speaker sessions, corporate responsibility activity, and training in addition to role project work assigned.

    1. Attend team/project/1 on 1 meeting
    2. Complete relevant CLC training
    3. Obtain familiarity with different departments and processes in the plant
    4. Learn and understand the kitting operation and wider Fridley logistics
    5. Learn and develop time studies for critical operations
    6. Document and distribute standard working methods
    7. Experience Oracle as a warehouse management system to monitor and drive optimization of Engineered material flows using available data and dashboards
    8. Learn and support execution of the Fridley warehouse transformation

    Qualifications

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong computer skills required, to include basic computer navigation, typing, data entry
    • Experience working with the following Microsoft Suite software applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Optimize engineered material flow by and creating time study based recommendations and implementing standard work of parameter set ups in the warehouse management system.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Hourly pay range for this position is $14.81 - $17.81. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
