We are looking for a motivated, talented individual interested in a manufacturing leadership role with significant growth opportunity to join our organization as a Carton Assembler at our Streator, IL facility. PRIMARY FUNCTION Load cartons, carriers, partitions onto carton assembler, carrier erector, partition inserter and sees that these machines and line conveyors continue to operate and function as designed to do. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT Carton assembler, carrier erector, partition erector, sealer units, glue pots, putty knife, broom, conveyors, ladder, mops, air hose TYPICAL DUTIES 1. Manually load cartons, partitions, carriers onto magazines of carton assembler, carrier erector, partition inserter and sees that these machines continue to operate and function as designed to do. Involves some button pushing. 2. Turns off equipment in case of malfunction and notifies supervisor or repairman. Checks for tab locks. 3. Unjams machines and conveyors by stopping it and removing materials. 4. Inspects and observes cartons, carriers, partitions for obvious defects, checks fiber tears; notifies foreman of any defects found and records on carton quality check sheet. Discards defective cartons to waste bins. 5. Checks missing bottle detector and counter. Fills missing bottles and re-serve on line. Involves pushing buttons. 6. Removes wrap and straps from pallet load, cuts bands. Unloads cartons and carriers from pallets. 7. May manually fold and assemble cartons and insert interior packing (Pads, liners, partitions, etc.) into assembled outer carton. 8. Gets and carries glue bags to work area. Opens and dumps on bins. Scoops to fill glue pots making sure that automatic machines are filled with glue. 9. Performs carton salvaging. 10. Stacks up on assembled cartons for emergency cases. 11. Attends casepacker by unjamming making sure operating properly. Notifies maintenance or foreman of any problems with equipment. 12. Cleans equipment with air hose to keep clean. 13. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Position Requirements: Position Requirements: At least 18 years of age. High School Graduate or GED. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
