    Job description:

    Position Summary

    The PCBA Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing assembly processes for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA). This role ensures high-quality production, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement in line with customer and industry requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, document, and maintain PCBA manufacturing processes (SMT, wave soldering, reflow, selective soldering, conformal coating, test, etc.).
    • Provide technical support to production lines to resolve process issues, equipment downtime, and quality concerns.
    • Evaluate and implement new equipment, tools, and materials to improve throughput, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Conduct process capability studies, DOE (Design of Experiments), and root cause analysis for yield improvements.
    • Monitor key process indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Quality, Design, and Production teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with IPC standards.
    • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) through process development, DFM/A (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) feedback, and pilot builds.
    • Train operators and technicians on assembly processes and best practices.
    • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing) or equivalent experience.
    • 3+ years of experience in PCBA process engineering (SMT, wave/reflow soldering, selective soldering, conformal coating, testing).
    • Strong knowledge of IPC standards
    • Hands-on experience with process troubleshooting, root cause analysis
    • Proficiency in creating work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation.
