  • Responsibilities

    ASSISTANT CUTTING PRESS OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY:  Prepares loads of product for the cutting presses. Keeps work area and general facility in clean and orderly condition, and helps the facility maintain high level of SQF standards.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    • Air Loads for each of the cutting presses

    • Empties the conveyor lines from the KBA’s

    • Removes scrap sheets from each press , bands up all waste loads and brings them to the warehouse

    • Moves top sheet loads to Asitrade WIP area

    • Keeps daily time and materials usage reports and records information in SAP and PEAK

    • Performs Preventative Maintenance

    • Monitors the Housekeeping standards in the break room actively managing the Cleanliness of the storage shelves and items stored in the refrigerators discarding abandoned food products.

    • Assist temporary employees with understanding task assignments while Reinforcing SQF standards and Graphic Packaging Internationals core values.

    • Perform housekeeping duties

    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Manager

    • Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork

     

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • S. diploma or equivalent required

    • Manufacturing experience required

    • Basic computer skills, data entry required

    • Visual Color Discrimination and ability to match or detect colors and shades of colors required

    SQF compliance experience preferred

    MECHANICAL SKILLS:

    Good mechanical aptitude skills needed

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or equivalent

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Company issued Fork Truck Operator’s license.
